Overview
Multi-Camera, Multi-Zone Video Analytics at the Edge
Discover the HyperEdge 700R advanced video analytics kit with Jetson Orin NX (157 TOPS) and eight 8 MP HDR GMSL2 cameras for multi-zone edge AI analytics.
Large retail sites, campuses, car parks and transport terminals need many cameras watching many zones, often in difficult light. The HyperEdge 700R kit connects eight cameras directly over GMSL2 on FAKRA-Z connectors, with 1-to-4 splitter cables included, so each feed reaches the computer without IP-camera network overhead. Person detection, counting, dwell-time and queue analytics can run locally on the Jetson Orin NX, without sending footage to the cloud.
Each camera delivers 3840 × 2160 resolution with HDR and LED flicker mitigation (LFM). The Sony IMX728 option runs at up to 30 fps, and the OmniVision OX08D option at up to 45 fps. The cameras output RAW12 images that are processed by the Jetson image signal processor. The IP65, -20 °C to +70 °C compute and IP67 cameras suit indoor and covered outdoor sites. This computing and vision hardware supports Physical AI applications in smart infrastructure.
The kit is supplied as hardware. Video analytics applications are developed or provided by the customer.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the HyperEdge 700R Advanced kit different from the M300F Standard kit?
The HyperEdge M300F Standard kit uses two 5 MP monochrome GigE cameras for dual-zone analytics. The HyperEdge 700R Advanced kit uses the larger HyperEdge 700RGT with eight 8 MP HDR colour GMSL2 cameras for many-stream, multi-zone analytics at large sites.
How many cameras does the HyperEdge 700R kit support?
The kit includes eight 8 MP GMSL2 cameras connected to the eight GMSL2 inputs on the HyperEdge 700RGT. Additional IP cameras can be added over the Gigabit Ethernet ports, subject to the Orin NX decode and inference capacity.
What is the difference between the Sony IMX728 and OmniVision OX08D cameras?
Both are 8 MP (3840 × 2160) GMSL2 cameras with HDR and LED flicker mitigation. The SG8-IMX728C-G2G uses a Sony IMX728 sensor at up to 30 fps. The SG8-OX08DC-G2G uses an OmniVision OX08D10 sensor at up to 45 fps, which suits faster-moving scenes.
Why use GMSL2 cameras instead of IP cameras for video analytics?
GMSL2 sends uncompressed video over a single coax cable that also carries power, with low, predictable latency. The edge AI computer receives full-quality frames without the compression and network load of IP cameras.
Can AI video analytics work without an internet connection?
Yes. On an edge AI computer such as the HyperEdge 700RGT, video is processed locally, so analytics can run without a cloud connection, and footage can remain on the premises.
Can the kit be installed outdoors?
The cameras are IP67 and the HyperEdge 700RGT is IP65, rated from -20 °C to +70 °C. The kit suits indoor and covered outdoor sites. Night-time coverage needs additional IR or visible illumination. Request a perception kit to discuss your site.
